We had a JamTastic weekend!

I sent the men to procure Concord grapes from our fave little roadside stand.

Cooking the jam

Preserving the jam

The jam is now parked right where we need it, by the toaster.

  2. I made grape jelly once with my aunt and mom and cousins. It was a sweltering hot day and we made something like 200 jars of jelly. It was insane.... But kinda fun to say you made it yourself, huh?

  4. It's not too hard actually. Basically boiling fruit, sugar, lemon juice and if you want pectin. There are a lot of steps to make sure everything is sterile. I think if you're doing mass quantities it can get crazy, but we've never done more than 5-10 pounds of fruit at a time. I hope to do more next year when I get my strawberry patch really going!
