It's been a while since we've done proper weekending, between the cub scouts' popcorn sale and attending various events. We had a great time Saturday at Prairie Oaks, hiking and taking in the sights, sounds and smells of fall. I guess you could say the tastes too, since we started the day with dougnuts and then had early supper at Der Dutchman. It was nice to just spend a few hours roaming the park and noticing things like wooly worms and other creatures, fungus and the smell and sound of leaves and wind.

The boys also enjoyed the crazy playground with the climbing rock that was a wee bit taller that I would have like, lol. They are adventurers.

Sunday found us at the soccer field again, for the 2nd to last game of the season. We have been blessed with excellent weather for every game (*knock wood*) so far, but we are also looking forward to reclaiming Sundays for piling on the blankets and reading books. For now though, it is awesome to attend a game with a mug of cocoa!

  1. We love hiking together also, though we have slowed a bit since the babies were born. Hopefully next Summer will find us increasing our outings again. We finished off soccer season on Saturday, and it was chilly, but not unbearable. Other than one rain out, we had a pleasant season as well!

  2. The color of the sky is stunning in these photos!! Love the one of you and your hubby!
