Meal Plan Monday

I am sick with a bad cold, and almost didn't make a meal plan at all.  Then I realized more than ever I need a meal plan to turn to, especially for the digging out phase that comes after a few days of sickness.  If I didn't have a plan today, tonight would have surely ended with me calling the husband to bring home carryout.  So, here we go:

Breakfast: Cereal and Milk, oranges
Lunch: Toast and tea, more oranges
Dinner: Lacho from freezer (a tomato based stew with sausage) and brown rice

Breakfast: Oatmeal, grapefruit
Lunch: Tuna salad sandwiches, carrots
Dinner: Hamburgers on wheat buns, guacamole and chips

Breakfast: Egg and toast, oranges
Lunch: turkey sandwiches, banana
Dinner: Steak, mashed potatoes, spinach

Breakfast: Cereal and milk, fruit
Lunch: Chef's Salad
Dinner: BBQ chicken sandwiches, slaw

Breakfast: egg and toast
Lunch: Leftovers
Dinner (Boys and Daddy) Popcorn shrimp, slaw, fruit (Me to book club)

Breakfast: Cereal and Milk, fruit
Lunch: Out 
Dinner: Leftovers or soup

I've decided to leave Sundays open, unless we have some occasion, simply because we keep changing it!  Most Sundays we are at leisure to concoct something from leftovers, thaw or roast something, make a pizza, and just generally follow our inkling for the day.  It is nice to have some flexibility along the way.

  1. I've followed a meal plan for years and find it helps a lot. For us, though, it is Friday that I just leave open. More often than not we indulge in carryout that night, or go somewhere. And if neither of those, we can usually find odds and ends of leftovers. But the upshot is, this mom doesn't want to cook on Friday nights!
